# Witch Chess
A magical chessboard creates transformations in people as the game goes on.
## Basic requirements
* At least one participant must have magical affinity.
* Each of the players must not be (already) enslaved.
* Each "match" will be overseen by an arbiter of magic (an arbiter is essentially a being of pure magic, like a wisp).
## Gameplay
Gameplay is like normal chess (could possibly be some fundamental transformations to make it more interesting) with some extra additions.
### Claiming a piece
When a piece is taken, the person taking the piece may request that certain transformations be performed, or "delay" the choices until after checkmate.
Piece | Transformation type
--- | ---
Pawn | physical transformation
Bishops/knights | mental transformation
Rooks/queens | spiritual/fundamental transformation
King | obedience/enslavement
### Transformations
There are three transformation types: physical, mental, and spiritual/fundamental.
* Physical changes are those that could have conceivably been different for the person. This includes things such as exercise, hair length/colour, clothing, and eye colour. This does not include things that would require a completely different lifestyle, like genderswapping, futanarization, or transformations.
* Mental changes cover things like personality, fetishes, and thought patterns. A mental change could be something like giving someone a fetish, or having them dislike something they previously liked (to a certain extent).
* Spiritual or fundamental changes are changes that are either completely radical, or "unnatural". The strongest type of change, as it can do almost anything. It can transform someone's body into an unrealistic form, add or remove bodyparts, or make them pick up a habit they wouldn't have had otherwise.
Transformations can't directly impact fair gameplay. For instance, physical transformations can't make people unable to move pieces/be blind, mental transformations can't make people mindless or unable to play while the game is going on, et c. This rule doesn't apply during the postgame phase, when checkmate is reached.
Participants can't directly interact with one another (no casting spells on each other, or touching each other).
Once checkmate is reached, the winner may pick the pieces off their opponent's side of the board, one by one, with their respective claiming bonus.
The "fair gameplay" rule doesn't apply here.
The following are examples of different valid transformation types.
#### Physical
* Breast size transformation
* Cock size transformation (for males)
* Hair colour
* Eye colour
* Becoming taller/shorter
* Clothing
* Muscles/fat
#### Mental
* Gaining a fetish
* Having certain thoughts
* Arousal
* Having knowledge "blocked"
* Slight personality transformations
* Being more interested in another hobby
#### Spiritual / Fundamental
* Latex skin
* Futanarization
* Genderswap
* Change of core beliefs
* Anthropomorphic transformations (catgirl, et c)
* Referring to people as Master/Mistress (just referral; only thing that can actually make them follow that is capturing the king)
[TODO]: # (Think of more "fundamental" transformations)

<spellbound_umbra> To play witch's chess, you would have no pieces, just the board. The Arbiter would be the spirit of the board you will. the built in enforcer of the rules and the agent of the magic
<spellbound_umbra> therefore the arbiter cannot be defied or the magic itself would be voiced
<spellbound_umbra> voided
<spellbound_umbra> the pieces would be drawn from the mind and soul of the players
<spellbound_umbra> drawing on their qualities to take shape
<spellbound_umbra> So each piece represents a part of the self. Courage, willpower, and so on
<spellbound_umbra> The King would be the will or self, naturally, the part of you that controls yourself
<spellbound_umbra> or that allows you to be sentient
<Liru> So what would happen when you took a piece
<spellbound_umbra> by claiming pieces you claim parts of that
<spellbound_umbra> person's mind or soul
<spellbound_umbra> and then those things can be warped
<spellbound_umbra> and since the players pieces are determined by themselves, basically how you would transformation someone would be a direct reflection of your soul
<spellbound_umbra> Ah, I'm probably getting a bit too wispy, so I'll loop back a bit
<spellbound_umbra> Like lets just say that the pawns represent your Body, your flesh.
<spellbound_umbra> as you capture more pawns, you will corrupt and transformation the players body more and more, and if you take all the pawns, then that body is under your control
<spellbound_umbra> or rather their flesh fully submits to your spirit
<spellbound_umbra> That said, with the game taking this spiritual dimension, even if you could not move, so long as you possess will and can think, you can make the pieces move
<Liru> Hm, wasn't there something similar in No Game No Life?
<spellbound_umbra> never seen it, so I wouldn't know
< samantha_cs[SF]laptop> So then the bishops and rooks are?
* spellbound_umbra shrugs
<spellbound_umbra> I dunno all the details, this is just me musing off the cuff basically
<spellbound_umbra> That said, something like this could actually have validity as a series. every player would have their own unique sets and all
<Liru> Maybe I could refine it for something more series based and less smut based
<spellbound_umbra> hmm. start with the smutty one-shot. there's nothing wrong with that
<spellbound_umbra> people always forget how many magaka start exactly that way
<spellbound_umbra> Koshi Rikdo literally used his idiot characters and robot chicks in porn sentai doujins
<spellbound_umbra> That's the author of the Excel Saga manga, for you whippersnappers :P
<spellbound_umbra> anyway, what I meant to say
<spellbound_umbra> is if you wanted to take it one step further with it being personal
<spellbound_umbra> the pieces don't have to be the same things for every player either.
<spellbound_umbra> Rather, if you consider the pieces as archetypes or roles, then it would instead be what you use to fill that role in your persona
<Liru> Mhm
<spellbound_umbra> A rook is a castle, which is to say a fortress to protect oneself. So it would be represented by ones defenses
<spellbound_umbra> Some people for instance nuimb themselves against feeling so that they don't feel the pains of life
<spellbound_umbra> Some people get angry and shift blame to others, and so on
* Liru writes down for later use
<spellbound_umbra> huh. I might have actually said something of some intelligence and style. I thank you liru. This actually cheered me up just when I was feeling mediocre
<Liru> This is seriously good stuff
